Big Cow and the Prophets
"big cow" is the literal translation of what the name "daniel" sounds like in chinese. daniel paquette has written songs, then the band arranges them, then they play them. Influences are your usual american greats, with plenty of underground sensibility thrown in for those unfamiliar with the honest craft of music.
formed november of 2002, big cow and the prophets is creating both danceable and thoughtful songs/ performances. daniel has been playing by himself for a number of years after breaking out of the punk rock mode of his first band APE. playing for free on street corners in china, indy, and cities all over, daniel's songs are honest and touching. ben traub has been playing with daniel since 1998. he is currently on hiatus from his other band, the mathy/jammy letters in english. dania jorgensen is fresh from new jersey, singing for the first time in a rock based band, her sense of when to take the stage and when to let the song go on its own is a skill rarely seen in a female performer. jesse lee comes from cali, and is quite the guitar player, and cello player too. recently from the 100's, lee cut his teeth with the now cult band the lou reeds. his early study of cello shows in his control of the instrument and melodic twillings with paquettes quitar solidify a band with no need for a bassist.
