Washington And Out
We're an energetic Indie Rock & Roll band. Our influences are pretty much anything we listen to. We like to add as many different elements to our music as we can.
Three of the four members (Dillon, Zach, and Cody) started playing music together as a praise band at their local church in Bedford, IN. After playing in front of a few small crowds and gaining confidence in their abilities, they decided that they wanted to write their own original music. Ideas started to form while a talent show was coming up at their high school. The drive to perform in it was almost instant. Since the church was on Washington Avenue and they wanted to get their music out for everyone to hear, they agreed to name the band, “Washington And Out.”
As time progressed they started to take music in a more serious direction and needed the full sound that every band strives for. Eventually they found, Derrek Tipton, a bass player who also attended their high school that was more than willing to play. Hours of practice and several crucial shows lead to Washington And Out’s first album titled, “Collective Thoughts.” With this material they’ve been honored to share the stage with several talented musicians including Hawthorne Heights and The Word Alive.
Towards the end of August 2012 they recorded their debut EP at Threshold Studios. Shortly before the release, Zach decided to leave the band so Derrek Tipton stepped up as the new guitarist and we found a bass player by the name of Bryan May. Now the band focuses on making unique, quality music that provides a fierce and meaningful message to everyone willing to listen. Hopefully their passion for music will reach you and make a difference in your life as much as it does theirs.
